my vsat ultra is always in autoroll or searching for signal please tell what i am doing wrong.

yes i do 509 came in then when i went to turn channel thats whenit went to autoroll or searching what can i do to get tv going?

try to reboot from rear of box off then on . and go to menu in antena setup to see if your settings are right. then leave on channel # 200 to update..if you have that channel .and check receiver info to make sure that the current file is installed PFTAUSW-080723U .... it sometimes needs to be put in again .. good luck let us know if you get it ..

I did everything you said and nothing worked. I sure miss my cs5000. I thought i did my homework on the viewsat it seemed to be the first one up when they went down. Can you think of any thing else i can do?

Press MENU to begin your setup. Press DOWN on the remote to get to INSTALLATION. You will be asked for a password. The password is 0 0 0 0 Now press OK to select ANTENNA SETUP. Select your satellite by pressing the RIGHT or LEFT arrows. I recommend starting with the Echostar 8,10 satellite. DO NOT PRESS OK.

22 Khz: OFF

TP Freq: 12253 <---- Very Important Echo 6,8

SEARCH OPTION: ALL

LEgacy SW: None ...................... Check signal & quality keep trying don't give up this is a small problem just have to go though it all ...This is an example of settings ...

woodgal, i have the same problems as you. Viewsat really sucks. Echo 7 is always missing when you switch channels or hard to find signals. Viewsat really favors Echo 6, 8 only. Boy, do I miss my Coolsat 5000! Again, Viewsat really sucks!!!! Never again!

If you are so disatisfied with the viewsat why don't you trade it for coolsat

There is always the option of paying for the subscription. But most of all know in order to get echo 7 you have to change the transponder becasue 12224 is spotbeamed...

I run a viewsat with a motor and it runs flawlessly so you your fixed dishes it should be snap. If you need or require a hand to setup your viewsat please let us know.

Archangel, you mean in order for me to get Echo 7 for my Viewsat is to adjust the dish manually? No wonder Woodgal and I are in deep dish. If we move it then it won't work for Coolsat boxes later on, right? And we have to adjust it again in order for the Coolsat boxes to work? If we have to move it I think I'll shoot the Viewsat and buy a Coolsat 7000 instead. It makes more sense to buy another coolbox that will work for 2 years until they tell us to buy Coolsat 9000.

First let us know what dish you have for instance dn 500, 1000 etc
then your sat settings and how you are scanning.....if you follow the instructions. on the how to's you would not have problems with new receiver...look under the sticky for your model and if you cant find it do a serch for it..it should be here if not all get it for you.....




Ps woodgal might have a different issue and receiver than you.....Always list your receivers and setup...you will get better help this way.......

I'd fixed the problem with the Viewsat with its signals. But I still can't get 118, is this normal? I have it setup with Echo 7 and the signal strength is decent but 118 is not there. Any suggestion Angel? Thanks.

you need a 33 inch or larger Dish is needed for 118.7 Anik sat as well as the Special Low frequency circular LNB.

This Sat is a has a Very low signal.....

36 inch Dish is recommended to get all the channels on 118.7.

When I had my Coolsat 5000 I had mos of the 118's channels, i.e. fox sports for the eastcoast like the Mets, Atlanta games, etc. So I'm quite certain that most of the Viewsat Ultra doesn't give us the antenna 118 for scanning or pickup the channels. I think This is the Viewsat Ultra's missing piece of the program and not the Dish that's sitting on my roof. I maybe wrong but I'm quite certain about this one. Thanks.
