I've been having problems from the start with my Pansat 2700a. I've never been able to get a ton of stations, but enough to keep me . from what little I know, I think it's the key that's what isn't allowing me to get everything. I found a key updater program that appears to work ok on my windows vista home machine, but it doesn't have a serial port. so i use an older notebook that's currently running windows 2000. the windows 2000 machine won't run the key updater program but windows vista does. does anybody know anything about this program???? it's called key update version 8.4.8.

I'm getting some stations like 1 PPV, fox sports, the major networks like cbs. but not getting stuff like animal planet, usa network, scifi, etc. that's why I want to see if a new key is will fix the problem. but don't feel like upgrading the computer that has the serial port that I connect to the pansat 2700a to windows xp from windows 2000 in order to use the key updater. i'll do it if necessary, but prefer not to.

What is your configuration? pansat 2700, Dish? LNB? What satellites are you looking at. What switch? It sounds like you may only be seeing one satellite and not all the transponders on it.

I'm using a dish network 300 series satellite dish. I use the defaults on the lnb because that's the only way I got anything at all. i was afraid to play with this in fear i'd lose what I had. not sure of model of switch I have. I can't get that right now, but it came with the receiver when I bought it. and I only have the one dish.
don't know if this helps, but I can occasionally see the direct tv satellites, but doesn't give me anything new. I know this because I've seen that I'm using satellites 110 and 119. a few other people have told me to try doing a blind scan and a few other options, but they don't seem to work. I'm just a wits end.
I appreciate the help, and hope you have some answers for me.
thanks

The dish 300 is only connected to the FTa receiver, or are you connectiong to a existing switch being used by a dn or bev receiver? If is is stand-a-lone, you need to know the switch in order to set the 2700 correctly. If you are not using a switch, enter the type LNBs you have in the 2700's antenna setup screen. Remember, you can have great signal, but quality is what you need to get a picture.

I looked, and the switch is a pansat 4 satellite to 1 receiver switch. I couldn't see any numbers to speak of to help identify it. but I guarantee I'm using a switch.
is just a mess that I wish I wouldn't have started with. think it's all over my head without somebody to configure it for me.
