Pansat Extended EPG Guide/correct settings for legacy and dish pro lnbs
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
pansat extended epg guide
in order to get the epg load screen pop up box
your settings must be correct.when setup correctly the epg load screen will pop up whenever you power off/on your stb, wile on ANY echo bird.but you MUST be pointed at echo 7.
if you don't find this, than your NOT setup correctly.
(settings based on simple setup of 119/110)
first, for those with legacy lnbs and external DiSEqC.(small single lnbs with one small white eye and no big letters written on them)
your correct settings will be:
echo 7-119
lnb type- standard
lnb local-freq- 11250
22khz- off
DiSEqC # (the port that 119's lnb is plugged into outside into the DiSEqC-VERY IMPORTANT or no epg load screen)
legacy SW-none
(don't touch the rest.)
echo 8.10-110
lnb type- standard
lnb local-freq- 11250
22khz- off
DiSEqC # (the port that 110's lnb is plugged into outside into the DiSEqC-VERY IMPORTANT or no epg load screen)
legacy SW-none
(don't touch the rest.)
wile this sounds very easy,so many people do not have the ports matching to the correct lnb-this is easy to do,as you can view tv just fine, but you wont be correctly setup.
its VERY easy to find out what lnb is REALLY pointed at what bird.
its confusing to many, because the dish acts like a mirror thus reversing witch side the bird is on up in the sky.
(don't skip any steps!)
1.do a factory setting in main menu
2.flip the rear switch off.
3.unhook your DiSEgC
4.u,sing a cable connector,connect one lnb
5.turn the rear switch on,and setup echo 7(even if you think its echo 8.10!!) same as above only this time DiSEqC-OFF.
6.do a sat scan-this only takes a min now thanks to bl great work.
exit to a channel, press sat button on remote, echostar package, don't push anything, just look at the list.
A.if you see 101 DNFYI at the top of your list the lnb you have hooked up right now is pointed at: ECHO 7-119w
B.if you see 100 HOME at the top of your list the lnb you have hooked up right now is pointed at: ECHO 8.10-110w
get a magic marker and mark the lnb somewhere right on it so you never have to run this test again.mark the other one wile your at it.
7.do a factory setting in the main menu and flip rear switch off.
8.now plug in each lnb,and note the marked lnbs DiSEqC ports and match in settings of the stb the same way.-very important.
9.scroll back up to see your setting, now you know 100% what DiSEqC port to put in.
10.WRITE DOWN YOUR SETTINGS FOR LATTER USE.
11.sat scan each bird,exit to a channel,.wait for pic.
turn off stb with remote wile on either bird's channel.
now you will see the epg load screen, provided you in fact are aimed properly at the 119/110 and pick up the tp thats holds the eepg (extended electronic program guide) channel.
i recommend you set your DiSEqC ports to echo7-port 1 and echo 8.10 to port 2 BOTH in the switch itself and in settings of the stb.this way its easy to remember as you can always come back to this guide and say,ok i know what my settings are because i did what was recommended, and its also the same settings as the internal DiSEqC of a dish pro lnb so 2 easy way's to remember your DiSEqC settings.
now for the dish pro lnb (a fat very common lnb 2 lnb eyes in one case and say's DP on it)
this is much easier,as the internal DiSEqC switch is echo7-port 1 and8.10 port 2
correct dp settings:
echo 7-119
lnb type- Dish-Pro
lnb local-freq- 11250
22khz- off
DiSEqC # 1
legacy SW-none
(don't touch the rest.)
echo 8.10-110
lnb type- Dish-Pro
lnb local-freq- 11250
22khz- off
DiSEqC # 2
legacy SW-none
(don't touch the rest.)
1. do a factory setting
2.setup as noted.
3.sat scan both birds.
4.now,i don't have a dp to test, but i'm guessing you also can be on any channel when you turn off/on with remote to view the epg load screen,be sure to test on 119,test on 110 channel also.
and there you have it,now, you can have many hours of epg.
at anytime you power off/on your stb you just push OK to load,or exit to cancel.
you must wait for 10 seconds or so,for the first 2 programs to show, sometimes not all channels will fill in,and sometimes you will have empty spots in the guide, this is normal at this time.
remember anytime you flip the rear switch, you will lose the long epg,and when the long epg has run out as time goes by,you simply power off/on with remote and load the epg again.
